Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

I come to You today with an open heart, knowing that I need You in my life. I know that I have made mistakes, and sometimes I feel far from You. I don’t always do what is right, and I struggle with things I know I shouldn’t. But today, I want to be honest with You and ask for Your forgiveness.

I know that from the very beginning, people have turned away from You (Genesis 3), and I realize that I have done the same in my own way. My mistakes, my sins, have created a gap between us (Isaiah 59:2). No matter how hard I try, I can’t fix that on my own. But You, in Your great love, have made a way for me to come back to You.

You sent Jesus to take my place, to pay for my sins, and to bring me back into a relationship with You (Romans 5:8). I may not understand everything yet, but I believe that Jesus’ death and resurrection were for me. I believe that through Him, I can have a fresh start. The Bible says that “the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23). I don’t want to be stuck in my past mistakes—I want the new life that You offer.

So today, I accept Your gift of forgiveness. Please wash away my past (Psalm 51:10) and help me to walk in a new direction. I don’t want to live for myself anymore—I want to live for You. Teach me what it means to follow You. Help me to grow in my faith and to trust You more each day.

Thank You for loving me, even when I didn’t deserve it. Thank You for giving me another chance. Thank You for Jesus, for His love, and for the new life I have in Him.

In Jesus’ name I pray Amen.
